The Influence of Our Thinking on The Body and Why Certain Asanas in Yoga Fail?

You probably noticed that every time we practice yoga we are in completely different states. Sometimes it can be the mind’s restlessness and the inability to stop the thought chain. Or on the contrary, apathy and frustration in practice, a sense of regress and lack of strength can occur, compared to past training experiences.

But, there are also positive emotions (states) such as: the state of purity and silence of the mind, absolute calm and slowing down, a feeling of lightness and openness to the whole world, euphoria or even pleasant, inspiring surprise from the resulting asana, about fulfillment, could not dream! Some may even boast of getting an answer to a question that has worried you for so long, eventually found on the rug!

It looks like magic, but in reality everything lies in our inner state, and in that how much our internal fire burns.

After all, not just say: “All the problems in my head.”

Yoga is primarily a philosophy that begins not with physics, but with moral precepts (yamas and niyamas) instructing the practitioner to attain purity of consciousness!

Our emotions and states of mind find their way out by mirroring us on the rug at the moment when we meet our soul.

This explains the relationship between our emotional sphere and the body, which reacts with any emotional constriction with blocks on the physical plane.

All the physical clamps appear in the body with age, when the society imposes its programs on the person, emotionally and spiritually alienating us from ourselves.

Remember how you were a child! How sincere and open! How flexible and supple your body was, like clay.

And now we will analyze the “psychosomatics” of certain asanas:

  • activity and openness of the heart chakra-anahata, which is responsible for emotions such as compassion, love and forgiveness
  • are associated with the internal ability to accept all the situations that life presents to us.

That is, if the deflections are given hard, this means that the person most often is afraid of encountering obstacles in his path, as well as the inability to accept, “bend” under the circumstances. All this points, first of all, to our psychological inflexibility.

This is something that I myself have come across on my own personal experience! Adolescence, school change, total rejection and rejection of oneself and one’s reflection, eternal comparison with oneself, my shyness and isolation, whose roots sprouted from childhood, seem to have hung locks on my body, and especially on the spine, closing the lock on my breast department, when the shoulders lowered and hunched forward became the norm.

Did you ever think about the root of this problem? Humpbackedness is not a heavy backpack or a sedentary lifestyle. This is our shell, in which we hide and defend ourselves from the outside world, blocking the circulation of our precious prana (energy) through the body through the spine.

It is possible to talk about deflections for a long time, but the first thing that will help you in their mastering is an open heart and the intention to let in it everything that the Universe will give you (events, opportunities, people). Also, on the contrary, our psychological inflexibility is overcome through the development of flexibility on the physical plane.

Love the deflections, feel how you become open to new opportunities and breathe in the full breast of love, which is poured through the body with a burning stream and gratitude.

Right now, I suggest that you check this axiom yourself. Stand in the tree pose (lat.-vriksasana), connecting the palms in the middle of the chest in namaste, while holding the drishti (attention) at one point at the level of your sight.

From this position, slowly lift up, connected hands to the top over your head, after which, try to close your eyes. And then your “tree” will start to shake and storm in different directions.

This balance exercise, will become for you an indicator of concern. That is, if you experience an imbalance in life, and your attention is knocked down by an infinite mental obsession, then it will be quite difficult for you to keep such a balance. But, try to train this asana on different days and in a different, more affectionate emotional and emotional state, how surprised you are by how much your body is stable, like an inner core piercing it from the base of the feet to the very top.

And most importantly: do not keep the emotion in yourself. Let it flow independently through the body, through the breath. Breathe it. Be an observer in your body! Accept yourself and your states of mind in any capacity. Tell yourself: “Yes, I’m angry,” or “I feel desperate,” and after recognition, emotion has the property of dissolving.

And, of course, be grateful to your body, and your soul temple will let you go further … into such an exciting and endless journey inside yourself!
